TSI Certification CE Mark
The use of a Notified Body opinion provides peace of mind for operators and manufacturers that Safety critical products and systems have been independently assessed by experts in the relevant field of operation.TÜV SÜD Rail is recognised for independently testing and certifying conformance to a wide range of international standards and regulations and holds over 100 Accreditations and Approvals. Our Notified Bodies maintain strict controls on Certifier competence and impartiality and we apply these to major rail projects under the following EU Directives.
Interoperability Directives
Railcert B.V. is an approved Notified Body (Number 0941) authorised to assess and certify rail products and systems within the scope of Interoperability Directives 96/48/EC (High Speed) and 2001/16/EC (Conventional Traffic), both of which are replaced by Directive 2008/57/EC. Railcert’s scope of approval includes Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) for the following six subsystems:
- Control and Command (protecting and controlling trains, preventing collisions between trains, derailments and collisions with other types of vehicle)
- Infrastructure (the track bed, the track and the structures on it)
- Energy (power supply and associated systems)
- Rolling Stock
- Operation
- Maintenance
Railcert specializes in system acceptance, approval and safety case assessment. As an independent partner, Railcert assesses whether the technology used meets the strictest safety criteria, as laid down in CENELEC standard EN 50126-EN 50129.
Railcert is also an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA). As an independent partner we assess whether the technology used meets the strictest safety criteria as laid down in CENELEC standards.
EMC Directive
We review and assess client technical documentation with a view to issuing a Statement of Compliance in support of CE marking. We have undertaken nearly 400 assessments since the first EMC Directive entered into force.
Many suppliers of capital equipment and systems such as trains, signalling and station systems value the additional assurance provided by having their EMC Technical Documentation reviewed by an expert third party.
Our Statement of Compliance provides a visible and powerful demonstration of commitment to EMC compliance and assurance.
