MCS Testing and Certification for Small Wind Turbines
Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is the independent government backed scheme that certifies microgeneration products such as wind power in accordance with consistent standards. If a householder or an organization purchases a MCS-certified product, government grants are available to the purchasers and, from April 2010, it will be possible for them to sell any excess electricity generated back to the National Grid. This is part of the government funded ‘feed in tariff’ programmed and is an element of the UK’s overall effort in meeting EU 2020 Renewable Obligations targets.
For you as a manufacturer of small wind turbine or as a custom fabricator, the MCS is essential for enabling your customers to gain Government grants and sell their excess electricity back to the National Grid.
You can benefit from a global network of auditors competent in the certification of small wind turbine products.
TÜV-SÜD is accredited to carry out Product Certification for Micro and Small Wind Turbine by UKAS under ISO / IEC 17025 and EN45011.
Small wind turbine Manufacturers
To gain entry to global markets, manufacturers need a certificate issued by a reputable third-party authority stating both performance and safety qualification of their products. SWCC certify of North America
The Myres Hill wind turbine test site of TÜV-SÜD is accredited to carry out Product Certification and testing for Micro and Small Wind Turbine by SWCC under ISO / IEC 17025.
TÜV SÜD is an accredited SWCC certification body. The test reports and certificates of small wind turbine products what had been certified MCS by TÜV SÜD are being approved by SWCC. The small wind turbine products manufacturers will largely reduce the products testing cost and certify period with passed the MCS certify when they apply again.
